Watch: ‘Goosebumps From The First Note!’ – Filipina Vocal Coach Who Flew To Malta For X Factor Gets Standing Ovation

If you really believe in your dream, nothing should come in the way… even if it’s halfway around the globe. And that’s exactly what one X Factor Malta contestant just proved.
37-year-old Rose Marielle Mamaclay took the stage during tonight’s episode as a professional singer who has served as a mentor for delegates representing her country in various European competitions, but this time round, the teacher finally wanted to have a go at becoming the contestant herself. And what a showing she managed to pull off!
Delivering an incredible rendition of The Greatest Showman’s This Is Me, Rose Marielle – who the judges instantly started calling Mamaclay instead – completely wowed the entire panel, with three of the four judges literally getting goosebumps as she hit higher and tougher notes throughout the audition.
By the end of her performance, Mamaclay had managed to secure four extremely easy Yeses, and even had the judges on their feet for a standing ovation.

“It’s such a heartwarming story, to hear that you’ve mentored so many people to reach their dream,” Ira Losco told the beaming contestant. “And now you’re working on it yourself. You really lit up the stage and you seem to be so comfortable. It was amazing, thank you for that.”
“And with a stage name like Mamaclay – which we’ve decided, that’s it – with a voice like that, with a commitment like you’ve just shown us, that you flew over to come to Malta, I can tell you this – X Factor Malta needs you, we want you, and it’s such a great honour for us to have you,” Howard Keith said, smiling. “Fantastic.”
