Watch: ‘Your Voice Is Like Silk’ – Teenage Italian Barista Impresses Judges With Four-Yes Performance
Travelling to a different country just for an audition sounds like a massive decision to take… but if you have Mattia Adduocchio’s voice, then maybe it’s not as extreme and risky as you’d initially take.
The 19-year-old barista is originally from Rimini, but flew down from Italy to have a go at this season’s edition of X Factor Malta. And boy does it look like he made the right choice!
Choosing the challenging Jealous by Labrinth, the teenager gave the song his own rendition, and it hit the judges right in the feels from the very first note. In fact, seconds into his performance, judge Gianluca was already raising his eyebrows and looking to his left to confirm that they were hearing what he was.

A number of other impressed judges reactions later, Mattia’s audition ended with a shower of compliments for the young man.
With Amber and Howard trying to agree on what his voice sounded like, from stain and velvet to finally settling on silk, Mattia had very clearly impressed the judges.
And as if that wasn’t enough, he confirmed with Howard that he’s currently sitting on three original songs, with the notoriously strict judge impressed that he was looking at a “complete artist”.
Four very easy Yeses later, Mattia will now next appear at the Bootcamp Phase of X Factor Malta… but how will he fare against this season’s extremely talented cohort of teenage contestants?
