Health Warning: Don’t Swim At Tax-Xama’, St Paul’s Bay

The Environmental Health Directorate has advised against bathing in Tax-Xama’, St Paul’s Bay, due to an excess of bacteria in the water.
“As a precaution and until further notice, bathing is not recommended at C22 Slipway at the right-hand side of the beach at Tax-Xama St Paul’s Bay due to an excess of the threshold limit of the microbiological parameters monitored during the bathing water programme as required under the Bathing Water Directive i.e. E. coli and I. enterococci.”
The Environmental Health Officers are investigating to determine the source of contamination. The duration of the contamination cannot be predicted at this stage.
Warning signs have been affixed on the site where they will be left until the situation is back to normal.
