7 Tea-rrific Places To Go For Afternoon Tea In Malta

Ahh, Afternoon Tea. This indulgent post-lunch, pre-dinner treat is quintessentially British but loved worldwide. Plus it makes you feel regal AF, don’t you agree?

Malta has its fair share of afternoon teas. Granted, not many… but enough, so take note.

Treat yoself to PM tea at this seven places around the island.

1. Palazzo Parisio, Naxxar

Palazzo Parisio’s Afternoon Tea is fit for a royal; I can totally see the Queen indulging in this at Buckingham Palace.

It consists of Le Grenier à Pain patissiere, freshly-baked scones, a variety of premium teas, finger sandwiches (such as ham & cheese, smoked salmon, mild curry) and their signature chocolate cake.

Book tea for two and they’ll treat you to a glass of Prosecco for just €35 per person.

2. L’Artiglio, Valletta

L’Artiglio have just launched an afternoon tea and you’d be cray to miss it.

Priced at €25, this menu is available for a minimum of six people and goes on from 3.30pm to 6pm.

Treats include finger sandwiches with salmon & avocado and mature cheddar & pickle (to name a few), mini pies, scones, croissants, macaroons and more.

3. Castelletti Restaurant, Rabat

Afternoon tea in a palatial setting is pretty badass.

Castelletti offers two luxury teas, the Classic (€13.50 per person including free flowing tea and coffee) and the Royal (€15.50 per person including free flowing tea and coffee).

Available daily from 2.30pm to 5.30pm

4. The Phoenicia, Floriana

The Phoenicia have really rolled out the red carpet by offering three scrumptious afternoon teas.

Take your pick from The Classic (€24 pp), The Sparkling (which comes with a glass of Prosecco at €30pp) and The Champagne tea at €40pp.

5. Le Café at The Corinthia, St George’s Bay

Priced at €13.75 (for the Classic afternoon tea) and €15.25 (for the Chocolate Lovers’ afternoon tea), both of The Corinthia’s tea offerings are sure to tantalise the tastebuds.

You can expect the very best finger sandwiches, freshly baked scones served with berries and cream and a selection of fine homemade pastries at Le Café.

Why not take it up a notch and add some champers? You deserve it.

6. The Westin Dragonara Resort, St Julian’s

For only €25 (from 3.30pm to 6pm), you can nibble and sip your blues away by relaxing in the lobby of the exquisite ORVM Lounge and Piano Bar at The Westin Dragonara Resort.

There, you’ll find a fine afternoon tea serving a selection of finger sandwiches such as turkey & cranberry, freshly-baked raisin scones, cakes, muffins and free-flowing JING Tea.

7. Flora’s Cafe, Naxxar

Flora’s specialises in cakes, cupcakes, scones and cute afternoon teas which would impress a Disney princess. Their scones are baked daily and they even make their own jam!
