In a world where everything from corn dogs to fried pickles to literal butter is served on a stick, Malta is throwing in its lot with a whole new premise of putting things on sticks.

Strü, the guys who brought Malta a food truck dedicated to stroopwafels, are about to launch their new menu – and it’s got some seriously funky takes on some classic desserts such as this over-the-top cheesecake on a stick.

Forget eating a normal cheesecake from a boring plate: there’s a entire flavour process here

First, choose your cheesecake flavour. Next, choose an outer layer flavour to be dipped into, such as white or milk chocolate.

Thirdly, choose a topping from over 15 different toppings, before finally choosing a sauce to be drizzled over it and adorning the glorious creation onto a stick.

“Cheesecake on a stick is the new ice-cream”

Wayne Works, the man behind the Strü brand, told Lovin Malta why Malta needed dipped and covered cheesecakes on a stick.

“It’s easier to eat, and there are so much variations that you can choose from -you can make any cheesecake you love right there,” he said. “Cheesecakes specials will also be available in time; we’ll have flavours like raw cookie dough cheesecake, as well as matcha and rose water cheesecake.”

And it’s not just the cheesecakes – their stroopwafel menu is growing

“We are expanding our stroopwafel specials on our new menu, and that is very exciting. We’ll have a custom-made stroopwafel gelato exclusively to Strü, and the flavours will change each month,” he said.

You can also get your hands on some legit S’mores, sans the campfire

Strü will be launching its new menu on Saturday April 20th, at a massive 4/20 event at Tigullio in St Julian’s

After its launch, the Strü truck will be posted up all over Malta, such as Ta’ Xbiex, Swatar, Mosta and Sliema, though locations will vary so keep up to the with their social media to find out where they’ll be that week.
