Everyone has their own take on what it is that makes a great pizza.

Soft Neapolitan style, or thin and crispy? Minimal ingredients or loaded to the hilt?

We would like to know your opinion on this so leave a comment below – but before that, here are 10 delectable pizzas in no particular order that we’ve been loving recently.

1. Yue Bistro by Munchies, Naxxar

This recently launched bistro has been making waves lately. Their pizza crust is lovely and stays crunchy even when taken as a delivery. A part of the Munchies’ franchise, it keeps the high standards we are used to.

2. Santi Gastro Pizzeria, Rabat

Coming with rave reviews from some fans here, this takeaway pizzeria has been described as the best in Rabat. Authentic Neapolitan pizza right at your door.

3. Taninu Restaurant, Marsaskala

With their wood burning oven, Taninu restaurant has wowed Marsaskala diners with their tantalising pizza flavours for a while now.

4. Pizza Amore E Fantasia, Gżira

This lowkey, tiny eatery is a well kept secret on the Gżira Strand. An Italian baker from Abruzzo makes the loveliest pastry with fresh ingredients. Would definitely recommend their Tartufata!

5. Salumeria Gardens, St Julians

Situated in the lush gardens under the shadow of the imposing Spinola Palace, Salumeria Gardens is a popular uptown restaurant favoured by locals and tourists alike.

A definite thumbs up!

6. Damiano’s, St Paul’s Bay

With a view on the beautiful St Paul’s Bay, Damiano’s lies in a rustic townhouse on the way to Buġibba. Their thin and crispy concoctions are delicious and reminiscent of the pizzas of times gone by.

7. Elba, Baħar iċ- Ċagħaq

This classy pizza joint has a reputation for making a mean pizza. This reputation has been gained rightfully by providing a well crafted product which even Bonaparte couldn’t refuse.

8. Emanuel’s Bakery, Qormi

This baker known for having some of the best ħobża in Malta has a lot of competition, but his dough speaks for itself.

This bakery with its traditional wood oven is spreading its reach across the country to rave reviews.

9. Casa Vostra, Victoria Gozo

Gozo has gone mad for this pizzeria! Located in Victoria, this is a popular hangout both for locals and their annoying Maltese cousins that come to pester them every holiday. Their pizza comes highly recommended.

10. Made In Sud, St Paul’s Bay

I couldn’t help but mention Made In Sud even though it is on every pizzeria list. This is the closest you can get to an authentic Neapolitan pizza in Malta in my humble opinion.

This fully Italian team provide a vast menu featuring Southern Italian ingredients such as friarelle, a kind of broccoli hybrid, and crochettine.

Bonus: Sotto, Valletta and MIA

Recognised as one of the top 50 pizzerias in Europe, this may be one of the best pizzas you can eat on the island, so do not miss out.
