Seven Places For Proper Prawn Dim Sum Dumplings In Malta
Proper dim sum is hard to come by in Malta – fact! Most Chinese restaurants either do not serve them or if they do, they’re frozen or dodgy.
Our favourite dim sum has to be prawn dumplings aka Har Gow. These are the most traditional of dim sum and come in the form of steamed parcels filled with prawns. They might be simple but mastering them is an art! We can spot authentic ones by a mile.
The consistency of the skin is very important (can’t be too thick or sticky) and the filling must have fresh prawn (not prawn paste).
Here are seven places in Malta that do the infamous prawn dumpling justice!
