Activated charcoal might be the latest trendy item used to whiten your teeth, but one Maltese food truck has other ideas for the traditional fire-starting material – put it in some awesome ice cream.

Roll & Chill is the brightly-coloured ice cream truck that has been making waves around the beaches and locales of Malta. Having started rolling out their handmade ice cream just last July, the very chill van has been spotted at places like Mellie?a Bay and wherever smiling faces are.

They hand-roll the ice cream – but the ingredients are where they really start to shine

Their famous Ying-Yang roll combines the cool flavours of meringue with, erm, activated charcoal, which, we can probably assume, you’ve never tried as a favour combination before.

Or you can go with the light-looking white chocolate, fig, and sprinkles…

…or maybe get a bit exotic with dragon fruit, banana and star fruit…

…or walk on the healthier side with avocado and blueberry with whipped cream…

…or just give in and grab the peanut butter, milky way and crispy chocolate cream, as your heart truly desires
