7 Things All Maltese People Do During That Weekend Their Parents Go Abroad

When the cat’s away, the mice will play. And boy do Maltese mice know how to play.

If this is one of your first times your parents have left their house in your hands, you’re in for a shocker. You’ll learn what it’s like to run a house (at least for a short time), how annoying it is to cook, and clean up after yourself. But there are some good things too.

We’re coming to you in your days of need, to help with a couple of suggestions of what you mice can do. Enjoy!

1. Par-tay

Might as well kick off with the inevitable.

Invite all your friends to that party you’re all literally dying to go to. Get a couple of drinks, play some drinking games, and go nuts.

You know they’re not coming home, and what’s better than hosting in the comfort of your own home?

Well, you’re about to find out after spending the next day cleaning.

2. BBQ

Burgers for my buds!

Daddy’s gone, and you’re now in charge. It’s your turn to take the mantle of spatula master and flip the burgers.

Invite your mates over, get some beers, make some cocktails, and gnaw on some munch. How can a Saturday get any better?

3. Netflix and chill

Yes, it’s still very much a thing.

Invite your better half over, or that guy/girl you’ve not been seeing for the last month over. Get that A/C blowing on 16 degrees and spend the whole day in bed.

Finally, some peace and quiet. And privacy.

4. Pool day

Sun’s out, gun’s out.

40% Sun, 20% sunblock, 10% sunbeds, 10% shades, 20% booze = 100% perfect pool day.

Make sure you have a pool, know how to use Instagram, and have an active Spotify membership. It’s time to chill, tan and swim.

Mummy’s not there to tell you to keep the noise down today.

5. Order in and play games

We both know that you wont be cooking for yourself the entire time you’re home alone.

Time to whip out some of the money your parents left you, call over the mates, over-order some Chinese food, and play Monopoly till you pass out from a food coma.

6. Sleep over

You’re tired and already feeling hungover, you know you have a mess to clean early tomorrow morning… but you also know if you’re not the only person at home, then you can enlist help.

Grab your closest friends and just find a place to pass out. You’ll only start to feel the regret of this decision once the light begins to trickle onto your face in the morning.

7. Binge watch the entire Lord Of The Rings trilogy

Don’t even start to tell us about how you prefer Harry Potter or whatever; we don’t care. If you’re going to binge a proper trilogy, it has to be the 1080p Blue Ray, extended edition.

Keep in mind that this runs for 11 hours 23 minuets 59 seconds (we counted), so stock up and get comfy.

Remember, all we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us… or at least till our parents come home.
