7 Tranquil Places To Meditate In Malta

Malta is many things; exciting, busy, loud and colourful. But peaceful? Not one of our specialties. It’s too easy to get wrapped up in the rat-race, focus only on negativity and become too attached to our phones. So let’s take a minute to find our inner peace together.
1. Buskett
Small paths winding between centuries old trees, small streams and rivulets, flocks of birds flying amongst the canopy. There aren’t a lot of places to sit amongst trees and greenery in Malta. But if you’re looking to connect with the natural world, Malta’s own little forest is the place to be.
2. Dingli Cliffs
Perspective can often be humbling, and there is no better place to gain some then one of the highest points in the island. Gazing down upon the scope, and surprising smallness, of our country can remind you on what does and doesn’t really matter. Take stock of the important things, and release the pettiness from your life. Lord knows it’s too easy to be small and petty.
3. Comino
Sometimes you need to get away to find yourself, and in Malta that’s a little hard to do. But if you’re desperate for some alone time with your thoughts, you could always head off to Comino. The Blue Lagoon is bound to be filled with people at this time of year but the rest of the island offers rolling hills and spectacular views of the sea. A perfect place to catch-up with the most important person in your life, you!
4. Ramla Bay
The noble sand-dunes, the dying evening light, and the crashing of the waves. If you’re in Gozo and looking for somewhere to sit and think, you won’t find better. The beach is big enough that you’ll almost always find a little alone spot. And the hills in the surrounding area are great for an extra escape.
5. Ta’ Ġurdan Lighthouse, Għarb
Lighthouses were once symbols of safe harbour. The promise of dry land, and safety from dangerous seas. Walk up to the iconic lighthouse of Gozo and try to feel that sense of safety in troubled times.
6. Qrendi
Is it better to live in the moment and enjoy your time in this world, or work to build something that will outlive you? Qrendi is home to the temples of Mnajdra and Ħaġar Qim, and being close to such ancient structures is sure to make you want to focus and think about your own impact. Find a seat near the sea, and let the waves of time roll over you.
7. Manikata
Between beautiful beaches, hills, and secret walking paths, you’re bound to find a nice spot to breathe in the sea air and reflect. The view of the sun slipping beneath the horizon is astounding and sure to give you the chills
