7 TV Series You’re Bound To Hear Maltese People Raving About

Ever get those days where you just want to stay in bed, relax, and watch a series? Yes, a whole series.
Well, Malta is definitely not new to binge-watching, and while there are literally hundreds of series out there that have been raking in the views and ratings, these seven are bound to crop up in at least one conversation with a Maltese person.
1. Peaky Blinders
This series came out of nowhere and took many by storm.
Suddenly, countless men are wishing they could look as dapper as Thomas and Arthur Shelby while sipping on their whiskey and smoking cigarettes. The drama, amazing cinematography, and intense characters will be carrying this incredible series to new heights, leaving us counting the days until new episodes.

2. Black Mirror
The type of series that puts your brain in a blender, switches the on button, and liquidises it. If dystopias are your cup of tea, you’ll have more than enough to satisfy your desires with this bleak and beautiful series.
With unique stories and twists and turns at every step, you’ll be scratching your head episode after episode.
Just be careful not to get your mind fucked too hard when you realise that some of the science-fiction in the series is already happening around us.

3. Friends
The series that just comes back year after year.
Recently being added to Netflix, another generation has now been given the opportunity to enjoy Friends. With all the nostalgia and comic relief this series gives us when we literally watch it year after year, it’s no surprise that it will forever remain a classic.
And hey, if a dysfunctional but loving group of late 20 somethings doesn’t say Malta, then we don’t know what does.

4. Stranger Things
A series that single-handedly took Malta back to 80s. With some of the most lovable young characters, showing us around the interesting town of Hawkins, this series leaves you at the edge of your seat episode after episode.
Stranger Things had us addicted before we even knew which side up we were.

5. Game of Thrones
Just finishing its eighth season, this series keeps going from strength to strength.
Without a doubt the biggest series in the world right now, with fans all over the world… Malta definitely being no exception. Having had a lot of the first season actually being filmed here, Maltese people seem to have a special bond with this Game of Thrones.
This series will have you crying, shaking your head, and pulling out your hair, but it’s so good that it’s all worth it.

6. Westworld
Another fantastic series by HBO.
Coming out at the end of 2016, Westworld already has many people counting the days till season two arrives. By literally blowing out minds from episode one, to having Anthony Hopkins soothing voice helping us along, this series has a fantastic future ahead of it, with us glued to our TVs along the way.

7. Rick and Morty
The only animation series on our list, and it couldn’t be more deserving.
With an underlying plot through the seasons backed with some of the most creative and random episodes, this series is definitely worth your time even if you’re big on animated series.
And if you’re big on Szechuan Sauce, there’s at least one Maltese food chain that’s got the recipe down. Shh.
