A Brit Asked For Advice When Driving In Malta And The Results Are Pretty Telling

A British tourist who was planning to visit Malta took to Reddit to get some friendly advice on what it’s really like to drive in Malta. Unsurprisingly they had heard it wasn’t exactly the most fun experience, but was hoping a little local perspective would help cement the decision.
Here’s the advice they were given.
1. Three simple rules to carry you through
Being wary of idiots is pretty solid advice in most situations
2. Be assertive, but vigilant
Sometimes a little confidence goes a long way. Confidence, not overconfidence.
3. Like, super vigilant
Eyes on the road at all times.
4. It’s not as bad as we joke it is
Or even if it is, there are many worse places.
5. But it’s always a good idea to invest in some robust insurance
This person’s got a point – the roads are pretty narrow and crowded.
6. Prepare for steep hills and potholes
You need to be mentally prepped for these too, cos they’ll always catch you by surprise.
7. And you can always just… get the bus
Not always as convenient, but probably safer for new drivers who aren’t super confident on Malta’s roads.
