All Grown Up: Luke Chappell Poses For New Photoshoot As He Opens Up About His Much-Anticipated Summer Album
The island’s latest teenage hearthrob Luke Chappell enjoyed his fair share of the limelight during the first season of X Factor Malta, but the young star is already looking ahead at his first album following his rise to fame.
Luke kicked March off by revealing the tracklist for the album, Cosmic Heaven, set to drop sometime this summer. The 13-track release features everything from fan favourites Young Dumb Things and Losing Faith In Humanity to never-before-heard tracks, but we haven’t really had much more information on what we’re going to be treated to on the album. Until now.
Having recently collaborated with dynamic duo Gary Bugeja and Malcolm Gauci on a stylish photoshoot (decked out in Tommy Jeans, and Calvin Klein) that’s sure to make his young fans swoon (or scream), Luke – who incidentally just turned 16 two days ago – sat with Lovin Malta to open up on Cosmic Heaven and the road ahead.
Although there isn’t yet an exact release date for the album, we do know that it’s coming sometime next season, and that, contrary to his previous EP, it won’t be available on YouTube. In fact, Cosmic Heaven will only be available on iTunes and Spotify.b
But don’t expect a banger-filled album without any of those signature Chappell feels. “There are two ballads that could make you cry,” Luke noted, nervously smiling.
So what does the future hold for Malta’s beloved teenage singer-songwriter?
“A dream of mine is to do a small tour in Malta in collaboration with the album so I get to perform it live in front of people,” Luke admitted. “We’re still working on it and it can be the case that it won’t happen, but it’s something I’m really aiming to do!”
Whether we get that Malta tour that all of us really want or not, we’re definitely going to be eagerly waiting for Cosmic Heaven. In the meantime, it seems like his crazy fangirls have been blessed with a couple more photos to stick up in the lockers.
