The VIP Lounge At Malta International Airport Wins Prestigious Award

The Malta International Airport is a welcome site to many weary travellers.
It’s compact, efficient, and well organised – and compared to some of the other airports in the world (we’re looking at you, Luton) it is miles ahead.
But there’s a whole other reason to look forward to visiting MIA beyond the actual travelling: you can spend some time in the newly redesigned La Valette Lounge, the airport’s VIP area.
The lounge is one of only 16 airport lounges in the world to receive the prestigious Highly Commended rating in the Priority Pass Lounge of the Year Awards 2017, coming out on top out of over 1,000 VIP lounges worldwide.

Opened last March after a complete revamp as part of the €12 million terminal reconfiguration project, La Valette lounge is open to both members of the airport’s VIP programme – the La Valette Club – as well as to travellers who want to make a one-time use.
The lounge features some awesome visuals, including a standout glass wall overlooking the airport’s bustling runway and an outdoor terrace, which is the perfect spot to enjoy a drink with someone beautiful before jetting off to Paris.

George Mallia, the Head of Retail and Property, said that “we are honoured that our recent efforts to improve our VIP offering through the unveiling of a new lounge have been rewarded by Priority Pass with a commendation.”
“This encourages us to continue investing in the lounge facilities, as well as ongoing training for the team so as to ensure that the service delivered reflects the importance that we, as a company, place upon excellence,” he said.
