Maltese Architecture Firm Nominated For Prestigious British Design Award With Beautiful Valletta Palazzo

A Maltese architecture and design firm has been shortlisted for a prestigious new award following the unveiling of an impressive Valletta property, and they’re asking for Malta’s support by voting for them online.
Forward Architects has been chosen as one of the main contenders for the Hotel Under 50 Rooms – Europe Award in The International Hotel & Property Awards 2019.
The design in question belongs to the The Rosselli – AX Privilege in Valletta
Located within a 17th-century baroque palazzo, the design is a fusion of themes that will surprise, provoke and stir emotion. With its beautiful baroque design, high ceilings and symmetry as its canvas, the palazzo ‘set the perfect stage for a memorable visitor experience’.

“We wanted to move away from the stiffness associated with local hotels towards a more evocative sophisticated affair,” said Michael Pace, one of the partners and founders at the firm.
“Our aim was to try and create a design to withstand the test of time and create stage sets that ignore trends and are instead suspended in time.”

The suites are made from six collections, each one provoking different emotions and a unique experience
Some are inspired by youth, rich in texture, colour and architectural motifs, while others are suggestive of Valletta’s secret gardens with feminine undertones and adorned with dark floral walls.
The calm atmosphere of the Palazzo’s courtyard provides the setting for yet another set of suites, each with its own private spa facilities that include an indoor terrace, a sauna and rain shower.
The East-facing set of suites delivers an innovative twist on traditional flooring and plastering techniques with added textures to add a hint of romanticism to the contemporary feel.

The suites located on the piano nobile, reflect Valletta’s architectural grandeur with the double height making these rooms whimsical and unusual.
And finally, the executive suite which brings together a dedicated private working lounge with interconnected sleeping quarters, with palatial solid wood flooring and a modern-day interpretation of the traditional.
