33-Storey ‘Honeycomb’ Tower Approved By Planning Authority For St Julian’s

A 33-storey tower project for St Julian’s has just been approved by the Planning Authority.
The PA’s case officer had also described the design as a “honeycomb”, with the project spanning almost 7,400 square metres.
The proposed plans were submitted by Paul Xuereb, owner of PX Lettings.
The development is set to include 11 floors worth of office space, a hotel with 11 suites at levels 17 and 18, and 58 apartments between level 19 and level 30.
It will also include a restaurant at level 31 and a car park for 259 cars which will be spread over six basement levels underground.
The PA board approved the project with nine votes in favour to two against, with a representative from the St Julian’s local council voting against the project.
Prior to the approval, a social assessment report found that 70.8% of residents in St Julian’s and Paceville are against the project.
What do you make of the design?
