Watch: ‘A Waste Of Our Taxes’ – Maltese Diver Fishes Out Sunken Tyres And Ladder From Seabed
A Maltese diver posted a video showcasing what one witnesses when they dive deep within the island’s waters… and it’s not what you would think.
The footage showed various tyres and an abandoned ladder lying on the seabed.

Advanced diver and environmentalist Raniero Borg and his friends took it upon themselves to fish them out.
Saying that it was his first dive at Wied iż–Żurrieq since the start of the new year, Borg questioned why other fellow divers and tourists have to come across the “stupid ladders” which according to him were not accounted for by the responsible authorities.
“This is the first thing that you come across exactly as your face hits the water,” he wrote on social media.
“My father is about to turn 65 years old and he’s here removing god knows how heavy of a ladder from our seas with his mates,” the diver’s daughter commented.
According to the diver, the ladders cost about €500 and once they “become detached and sunken to the seabed,” they are replaced with brand new ones, even though the sunken ladders are still in “great condition to be reused.”
Borg called this “a waste of our taxes”, urging for it to be stopped
