Watch: Rehabilitated Turtle Released Back Into The Sea At Ġnejna Bay
Earlier this morning, a rehabilitated turtle named Lotto2 was released back into its natural habitat due to the efforts of the Wildlife Rescue Team Malta.
The turtle was released at Ġnejna Bay, where local singer Ira Losco also presented a €10,000 donation on behalf of Lottoland.
Lottoland has once again chosen to renew its support for the Wildlife Rescue Team Malta, in order to aid in the conservation and rehabilitation of marine life on our islands.
In Malta, five of seven types of sea turtles located worldwide can be found, with the most common ones being the green turtle and the loggerhead turtle, which frequently nest on our beaches.
The Wildlife Rescue Team is responsible for the protection and rehabilitation of many of Malta’s protected species such as dolphins, turtles, hedgehogs, chameleons, wild rabbits, the Maltese weasel as well as skinks and shrews.
They strive to raise awareness about the conservation of these species so that everyone can do their part in protecting Malta’s wildlife.
If you wish to report any injured or disturbed protected species please contact the Wildlife Rescue Team at 9999 9505
