WATCH: Destiny Returns To Malta With Crowd Welcoming Her After Eurovision Heartbreak

Destiny has returned to Malta late Sunday evening following Saturday’s Eurovision final, where the starlet placed an impressive seventh but fell short of bringing the crown home.

Though she did not take the coveted first place home, Destiny has gotten Malta its best result since Chiara coming second in 2005 and our first entry in the top 10 since Gianluca Bezzina in 2013.

She returned to Malta to a welcome that was far more muted and smaller than previous contestants – mostly due to the fact that COVID-19 restrictions were likely to stave off the warm welcome that the star deserved.

“I just wanted to say thank you for all the support,” Destiny told Newsbook.

“Thank you for all the lovely messages I received. And thank you for your constant love in general because I needed it. Thank you so much, I love you all.”

Destiny’s return to Malta marks the end of this Eurovision season, yet it does not change the fact that the 18-year-old killed it in Rotterdam, giving the strongest and best performance anyone could ever ask of her.

Though many fans could not be there to welcome her in person, nothing can change the support that Malta has put behind her.

Would you have gone to welcome Destiny back if you could?
