Watch: Għaxaq’s Carnival King Hits The Streets With Super Incognito Costume

If there’s one thing you can always bank on come Carnival, it’s that Martin Gafa’ will find a way to have the most original costume you could ever think of… even if you might not even spot him!
The Oddity tattoo artist and DIY legend was back at it again this weekend, taking to his beloved hometown Għaxaq’s spontaneous carnival for an incognito costume that had him blending into the background a little too well.
“When you’re a 28 waist and people tell you you’re like a lizard,” Martin joked on Instagram, sharing photos and videos from his costume, including clips from when he unveiled it in his beloved garage-workshop.

Għaxaq has long been known for its spontaneous carnival across the decades, earning itself the title of Malta’s alternative to Gozo’s Nadur, especially when it comes to darker and more unique costumes like Martin’s.
In fact, in previous years, the tattoo artist gone as everything from a Xenomorph straight out of the movie Alien, to dressing up as a potted plant that actually went unnoticed for most of the night.
Now, with Għaxaq’s Carnival set to really kick into overdrive tonight, we all can’t wait to see what Martin and his friends have got underneath their sleeves!
