Watch: ‘The Unthinkable Happened’ – The Busker Goes Viral With Line Dancing Community As Reddit Asks For South Korean Tour

The finalists for the Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2024 may have just been revealed… but it looks like the islands’ 2023 representatives are still enjoying their time in the sun, even if it’s coming from a very unlikely place!

“The Unthinkable happened,” The Busker wrote on TikTok over the weekend, sharing the curious news that, in the past couple of weeks, their Eurovision song Dance (Our Own Party) had started going viral within a very niche community.

“I just got off a YouTube rabbit hole,” a post on Reddit which the trio was reading stated. “Apparently Malta’s 2023 song is now popular in the line dancing community across the globe?”

And it seems to have all started about a month ago with a returning line dancing champion-trio’s performance which was recently uploaded on YouTube.

Pleasantly surprised (if not a little shocked) at the great but extremely random piece of news, The Busker went on to reveal that there also seems to be an online petition to get them to visit and perform in South Korea.

“I’ve never been to South Korea,” percussionist Jean Paul said, smiling. “I’d love to go.”

Joking that the budgets don’t will it and they “need money” to be able to pull off such a feat, the boys continued to entertain the idea, mentioning everything from tours with line dancers to becoming an opening act for mega K-pop group BTS.

“Do you think we actually inspired line dancing for this song?” Dav.Jr asked, to which saxophonist Sean interjects happily saying, “I really hope we did!”

“It’s great!” Dav continued. “We’re appreciating this. We’re very grateful that our song is making kind of airwaves after this year, wow.”

Tag someone who loves line dancing… and someone who would love to see The Busker performing in South Korea!
