What Could’ve Been: Gozitan Designer Teases Photoshoot Of Alex Alden’s ‘Discarded Looks’ From X Factor… Along With This Weekend’s Final Look
X Factor Malta judge Alex Alden is no stranger to local headlines, having made waves after some bold outfit choices and impassioned outbursts, just within the past three weeks.
Now, with only one live show to go, the brains behind her iconic purple robe has taken to Instagram to post some ambiguous (and awesome) shots.
Beloved Gozitan fashion designer Luke Azzopardi posted some shots of Alex wearing some gorgeous gowns on his Instagram stories.
The photographs, taken by local photographer Marija Grech, feature Alex in a series of vintage-looking gowns posing at the picturesque Malta School of Art. As it turns out, these dresses could’ve actually ended up being the stars of previous X Factor Malta shows.
In a later Instagram post, Luke explained that the photo-series will feature “looks that didn’t make it to the @xfactormalta final nights”, but definitely could not be left “hanging”.
Beyond being expertly directed by Marija, the shoot includes set design by Andrew Borg Wirth and make up by Gabrielle Zammit Grungo.
Alex will be unveiling her last Luke Azzopardi look on this Saturday’s X Factor Grande Finale
Apart from that controversial purple “Caesar dress”, other looks have been a reverse-Għonnella-haute-couture looking black gown, and a Greta Garbo-inspired Old Hollywood gown that featured in last Sunday’s movie spectacular show.
This Saturday’s finale theme will be inspired by Malta, so we can only imagine the beauty that it will be. Azzopardi has hinted that it will be a ball gown of sorts, in his studio’s signature colour mustard, and will also include hand-embroidered gold wire.
Official shots from the shoot will be exclusively released on Lovin Malta in the coming days, so keep an eye out!
