Giorgia Borg’s Backing Track Was Changed Just Two Hours Before Her Massive BGT Performance

Maltese pre-teen sensation Giorgia Borg made waves with her Britain’s Got Talent audition last month, but unfortunately did not earn enough votes to make it further after last night’s Semi Final.
Now, songwriter Muxu has revealed the performance was made even more challenging by the fact that the backing track was altered just two hours before Giorgia was set to go live in front of almost 10 million viewers.
“My Giorgia, no words can describe how proud of you I am considering they changed the backing track of the song 2 hours before you sang” he wrote in an emotional Instagram post.
“At 11 years old, that is not easy – the rest had months to fix their performance, you had two hours and you still nailed it.”
Receiving a standing ovation from the judges for her performance of Free, Giorgia (a Golden Buzzer contestant) was highly praised for her vocal abilities, but the performance was not without its criticisms.
Still, despite calling out the backing track and asking Giorgia if she wrote the song herself, hard-to-please judge Simon Cowell had nothing but praise for the talent shown on stage that night.
“I really do believe that, no matter the result tonight, you’re going to have a career in the industry,” Simon Cowell.
