Warning: Sewage Contamination In St Paul’s Bay, Swimming Not Advised

Another sewage leak has contaminated Malta’s blue shores, this time, in St Paul’s Bay.

The leak prompted officials to release a warning, advising individuals not to swim until further notice since the water can pose a potential risk to bathers’ health.

The exact site that should be avoided is Tax-Xama and Ta’ l-Ghazzenin St Paul’s Bay, site codes C22 and C23.

This is just one of multiple in-sea and on-land sewage leaks that have raised concern on the island, contaminating the quality of Malta’s seawater and air quality with bacteria like E. coli and posing a risk to public health.

The errs within the island’s infrastructure are showing with several public services cracking under the pressure of overpopulation and overdevelopment.
