At some point or another, we’ve all tried to literally translate a famous Maltese saying to English, with side-splitting results. A new Facebook page called Orrajt? has just been started, with the aim of curating all these sayings. 

A couple of hours later, it’s already amassed quite the library, and here are our favourites.

1. Niġi naqa’ u nqum minnek

2. Taqtax qalbek, affarjiet li jiġru

3. Kemm insibek f’sormi

4. Ta xejn, ruħi

5. Illostja, x’buzz!

6. Il-wiċċ ta’ Kristu, x’mazza dik!

Even though mazza is technically a mallet, this is still hilarious.

7. X’iż-żobb trid?

8. Attent kif taqsam it-triq għax tista ttajrek karrozza

9. Kemm ittini f’għajni

10. Mort il-gym. Għandi ħafna qtugħ ta’ laħam!

11. Qed nibilgħu f’sormi mieghek!

12. Kemm int vojt, għid?

13. Kemm huma ta’ l-Alla dawn
