Airport Roundabout To Close Tonight As Infrastructure Malta Lays ‘Final Stretches Of Asphalt’
Infrastructure Malta has announced that from four to seven pm – the Airport roundabout will be closed.
“We are laying the final stretches of asphalt at the Kirkop Tunnels and Airport Intersection Project,” said IM in a post to social media.
This could mean that after what has felt like several years of accessing the airport being more of a challenge than sprouting shoulder blades into wings and personally taking off – the road may soon fully open for public use.
IM advised those travelling in the area to use an alternate route diverting through Triq Il Karwija, Gudja and the MIA petrol station exit – and though signposting will hopefully be better than it has been in the past – heavy traffic is a real likelihood.
Do you believe that the era of airport roadworks could be coming to a close?
