From humble beginnings to the national spotlight, Malta’s youngest musical sensation Luke Chappell has already made a career out of music that many can only dream of… and he’s technically not even old enough to be in a club he’s headlining.

Now, the X Factor wonderboy has the opportunity to take the stage at the Lovin Music Awards both as a performer and potential winner for three categories –  Best Song, Best Pop Act and Best Upcoming Male Artist.

In the run-up to Malta’s most anticipated show of the year, here’s what you need to know about Luke Chappell before his performance that night…

One of Malta’s many young and hidden musical talents, Luke Chappell first came into the spotlight back in 2018 when released two of his most well-known songs to date, Young Dumb Things and Lost Faith In Humanity, over on his YouTube channel.

Not knowing what to expect, both songs became instant hits, and Luke got over 2,000 views one day after their release and a total of 58,000 views to date. After such a promising start to his musical career, the teeanger looked to the horizon to see what was next in line for him …

Luke set his eyes on Malta’s biggest music event of 2018, X Factor.

Despite being the youngest contestant of the show, nothing was going to stop Luke from chasing his dreams and, after an incredibly successful campaign, he made it all the way to the semi-finals, only to fall short in fifth place.

For most contestants, X Factor is the be-all and end-all of their musical career. But Luke isn’t like most contestants.

Building upon the momentum he created soon after the show’s finale, Luke quickly ammassed an army of very faithful followers and announced he was working on his debut album Cosmic Heaven to be released later in 2019, featuring 13 original tracks.

He even teased his fans with the tracklist…

… as well as his first single, a dream-pop tune called ‘Head In The Clouds’.

The hype for Luke Chappell has been real. 2018 may have been his break-through year, but 2019 has been his busiest so far…

With an album on the horizon, Luke has been busy working on his artistic profile, displaying a more mature and darker look in his latest, mind-blowing (literally) music video for his new single ‘Human’, directed by none other than LMA creative director Steven Levi Vella.

Sporting a fresh look and equipped with some new tunes, Luke just keeps on surprising us with the extent of his musical talent.

With the way things are going, Luke is primed to put on one hell of a performance at the LMAs on October 19th and you know you want to be there when he comes out on stage rocking his ghostly-white hair and leather jacket.
