WATCH: Ira Losco Recreates Her Classic Eurovision Hit In Nostalgia-Inducing Night
Ira Losco’s performance starts at 1:03:05
It’s been 17 years since Ira Losco had the Maltese nation on the edge of their seats as she came excruciatingly close to winning the Eurovision Song Contest with 7th Wonder .
Ira was propelled to instant local stardom and she has never looked back, but she rolled back the years last night, recreating her 7th Wonder performance at the Mediterranean Conference Centre. To truly ensure that nostalgia kicks in, she also wore a replica of the famous white dress she wore back in 2002 and blew glitter onto the stage, just as she had all those years ago.
Chaira took to the stage to sing ‘The One That I Love’
Mary Spiteri sang ‘Tema’ 79′
Destiny Chukunyere sang ‘Not My Soul’
And Ira was by no means the only Eurovision throwback of the night. Chiara, who finished third and second in two contests, also took to the stage to perform her 1997 hit The One That I Love, while Mary Spiteri, who finished third back in 1992, performed her classic Tema ’79.
Meanwhile, 16-year-old Destiny Chukunyere got to perform Not My Soul, her entry which won Malta the 2015 Junior Eurovision Song Contest.
