6 People You Will Meet In Every Maltese Workplace

Article Featured Image

The work environment can be a challenge for many people. Work quickly becomes a place where you spend the majority of your day, where knowing the people and their quirks around your office can help you get a pretty good feel of the types of personalities you work with.

While there will always be outliers and exceptions to the rule, here are six different types of people you’re almost guaranteed to meet working in a company in Malta.

1. The suck-up

The liveliest person in the meeting.

The boss is their messiah. They’ve either been at work for too long and have come to terms with the fact that the only way to get a promotion is to be the bosses pet, or they’ve just arrived and began looking up to the boss like he is the father they’ve always wanted.

2. The social media addict

You remember them asking for the WiFi password on the first day, and you’ve judged all they’ll ever be.

You can see them with the pinned Facebook and WhatsApp tab on their browser, and the way they hide themselves as they successfully go through Instagram all year without anyone batting an eyelid.

3. The busy bee

The real machines.

The few people in the company who have transcended work and are able to concentrate and simply do their job for eight hours straight, with close to zero distractions. How do they do it?

4. The office hottie

Every office has one, every office has to, life is a competition and they won the pretty contest at work.

If you’re not sure who it is at your line of work, then it’s probably you, you sexy thang.

5. The non-stop talking know-it-all

The one person who knows everyone’s name, age, date of birth, address and anything else they can think of.

The office gossip is their early morning Red Bull.

Pro tip: if you’re going to be having a talk with them, take a few Panadols with you. Trust us.

6. The shy one who’s instantly branded a stramb/a

They don’t really talk much, or mingle with anyone.

Taking their breaks at times when they know they’ll be alone, and never really getting into the work life atmosphere, they’re the type of people you’ll never expect to see at the company BBQ.

Maybe what they need is less judgemental looks and more people actually trying to break the ice? Sometimes, you need to take the first step. Because God knows they won’t.
