IN PHOTOS: This Naxxar Palazzo Can Win An International Building Of The Year Award
Naxxar’s Villa Castro is a beautiful renovated palazzo which has already seen its fair share of international recognition. After being shortlisted in the 2017 World Architecture Festival Awards, the palazzo now has the chance to win another prestigious award, a Building of the Year award.
This opportunity comes in the form of popular weblog Archdaily‘s annual awards. The Palazzo, a collaboration between Architecture Project and Jens Bruenslow, is listed under the awards’ ‘Houses’ category.
As the name implies, the villa combines classic Maltese Palazzo characteristics with a generous helping of modern architecture, and the result is absolutely gorgeous. The 700 square metre, 9-bedroomed Palazzo comes with under-floor heating, library and games room (to name but a few features). Villa Castro had gone up for sale last September for a cool €2.7 million. Definitely #HouseGoals material right there.
There are loads of other projects from all over the world currently listed along Villa Castro. In fact, over 3,500 projects are featured, but a shortlisted version will be selected on a popular vote over the next week basis before the 15 stand-outs (the best in each category) are selected. And that’s where you come in.
People can nominate their favourite projects, and since Villa Castro is on the list, we’re hoping it makes it to the final stages. All you need to do is follow this link and vote for our island’s very own representative on the international list!
In the meantime, here are some more shots (courtesy of Alex Attard) from the stunning palazzo to sway you into nominating this Maltese palazzo.
