Football Legend Claudio Marchisio Is The First Juventus Figure To Become Honorary President Of A Maltese Club
Former Juventus and Italian national team player Claudio Marchisio is now the Honorary President of Juventus Club Malta Cuore Bianconero.
Marchisio accepted the offer during his visit to the islands as part of a series of events organised by the Maltese club last weekend that offered local supporters to meet the Juventus’ legend.
By accepting this title, Claudio Marchisio also became the first Juventus figure to accept an official position within a local supporters’ club.
Over 380 people were in attendance during the main event presentation, all of whom also had the opportunity to pose for a photo with the football legend and get his signature on an item of their choice.
Claudio Marchisio joins a list of Honorary Presidents that includes Magistrate Joseph Mifsud, James Mizzi, Jean Borg, Omar Busuttil, George Camilleri and lawyer Joseph F. Borg, who served as the first President of the club.
Marchisio seems to have really enjoyed his three days in Malta… even going so far as to urge his 4.3 million Instagram followers to visit the island themselves
“It’s a stupendous island, there are people who welcome you in the best possible way, and it’s a land you truly need to discover,” the football legend told his followers on Instagram earlier today, saying everyone – beyond Juve supporters – to book a trip to our little Mediterranean island.
