Malta’s U18 Women’s Basketball Team Advances Past Georgia To Secure A Spot In The European Championship Finals

There’s no stopping our girls in red after their victory against Georgia secures them a spot in the European Championship final tomorrow.
Team Malta got off to a strong start in their matchup against Georgia earlier today, winning the first two quarters 20 – 10, 16 -15.
The second half favoured Georgia as they took the last two quarters 9 – 12, 8 – 11 but weren’t able to make up their first-half deficit, losing to Malta for a final score of 53 – 48.

Once again Michela Zammit Cordina led the team with a whopping 19pts but not without the help and support of her teammates including Ylenia Bonett (with 9 rebounds) and Mikela Riolo (with 5 assists and 4 steals).
