Watch: Maltese Basketball Sensation ‘Big Sam’ Tours Campuses With Hong Kong Bulls
Malta’s tallest man and sports sensation Sam Deguara is putting his impressive basketball skills on display with the Hong Kong Bulls.
The team posted several snippets of Deguara on a school campus tour with fellow basketball player Leung Shiu Wah earlier today. The Maltese was scoring baskets with the greatest ease imaginable.
Another video posted by his team’s Instagram showed Deguara, or as they have nicknamed him, ‘Big Sam’, answering questions in Cantonese at the school. When asked about his height, he revealed that he is at least 225cm (7’3 feet) tall. Deguara was also filmed signing posters and conversing with students in their language.
The Maltese national signed with the Hong Kong Bulls in the Chinese National Basketball league in June 2023 and has been a regular starter as a Centre ever since,
Back in February, the Hong Kong Bulls announced that Deguara will be the team’s Taurus Basketball Promotion Ambassador, where he would be touring schools to promote the team.
“In addition to participating in team campus activities, he also interacts with everyone from time to time in the city or even in the streets,” the team stated.
