June is a month chockfull of cultural activities and events.We’ve already tackled the ridiculous amount of festi which take place this summer here, but now we’ve decided to save you the hassle of looking into events yourself with this handy guide to a very Maltese June. You’re welcome.

1. L-Imnarja

The Mnarja is one of the most looked forward to events of the year in Malta. It’s of great importance both culturally and agriculturally as farmers, breeders and nature enthusiasts come together to celebrate and showcase their amazing produce.

2. San Filep

On St. Philip’s eve there will be a pyrotechnic show at Żebbuġ which will be blending tradition with engineering, so if you’re a fireworks fan or are just curious about what these guys have planned, you can check the event out here.

1. Xagħra Fig Festival

Praise the Gods of food and pleasure — The fig festival is here once again — You can stuff yourself with fig compote, fig pasties, fig tarts, fig rolls, fig love and even fig children maybe.

2. Mnajdra Summer Solstice

Celebrate summer solstice at the Mnajdra Temples with this ethereal musical recital which will immerse you into a remarkable archeological and contemporary experience. Scottish trombonist John Kenny will be exploring instruments such as seashells and Celtic war horns.

3. Għanafest

Għanafest is that yearly calendar date which most of us try their best to keep. The festival brings about a cultural explosion of local and Mediterranean talent. The festival will be hosted at the Argotti Gardens in Floriana.

1. Victoria International Arts Festival

The Victoria International Arts Festival is giving you yet another excuse to visit our gorgeous sister island Gozo. With both local and international acts, this festival will surely satisfy everyone’s tastes.

2. Picasso and Miró: The Flesh and The Spirit

This is your last chance to take a look at these wonderful works of art brought together under one roof. This exhibition is truly awe-aspiring and will give you a once in a lifetime opportunity to view Picasso and Miró under one roof.

3. PyroStars 40th Anniversary

Luqa will be celebrating their 40th anniversary of pyrotechnic stuff on the 30th of June. The event will be hosted by the St. Andrew’s Band Fireworks Factory. We’ve seen great events in the past from the Pyrostars shows, and this one will surely give you the bang of your life.

4. New Moon at Għar Dalam

Experience something different on the 15th of June at the wonderful prehistoric cave of Għar Dalam. There will be a new moon gathering where people will be observing nocturnal creatures in the vicinity. It will start off with a lecture and a demonstration about the usage of creature detecting devices.
