Dear Maltese Barbers: Here Are 13 Local Celebrity Hairstyles To Inspire You

Article Featured Image

Last week, we begged all Maltese barbers to stop transforming every single male on this island into a Hitler Youth recruit. And while we (obviously) got some backlash, many out there agreed with us, begging for an alternative. Well, here at Lovin Malta, we don’t just complain. We’re here to offer some helpful tips instead.

If you can’t find an inspiration as to what to ask for next time you head to the barber (or if you’re a barber and all you can think of is offering your client dak in-naqa fade mas-sides u wax għall fuq bro), then here are 13 Maltese celebrities who can might just help you light a creative fire.

1. The Dom

Perfect proof that with hair, less is more.

This is the style to go to if you want a classic and easy to manage look which shows people that you mean business. Nobody will refuse or oppose anything you say out loud. This hairstyle demands respect, and it demands it now.

2. The Sant

Speaking of less is more, this is the Criss Angel of hairstyles.

It is always well-groomed and never out of place. We wonder what his secret is…

3. The Gray

Lawrence has been through a myriad of styles and shades, but if you’re looking to add a couple of inches to your height, go for a lighter version of something that wouldn’t go amiss in a 00s emo music video.

Those shaved sides might evoke memories of the Hitler Youth, but it’s that long fringe that really helps bring it home.

4. The Tucci

The Tuċċ has been a bit of a hairstyle hoe with his ever-changing repertoire of styles. You will never fail to find an inspiration in this Maltese hunk.

From bleached hair to bed head curls, Davide never fails to impress us with his beautiful tresses.

5. The Xandru

We cannot ever make a list about Maltese men without mentioning Xandru.

His luscious hair is everyone’s envy (go on, admit it). Those big bouncy manly curls are the perfect hairstyle for anyone who wants to look like the epitome of Maltese sexiness.

6. The Casa

A more casual version of The Sant.

The Casa is shorter, sleeker and less prone to being windswept. However, just like The Sant, The Casa also looks almost as if it was glued into place.

7. The Konrad

The Konrad finds its primal influences in the likes of Cruella de Vil and Lily Munster.

This hairstyle is for anyone who wants to look the part of a stylish villain. The Konrad goes well with designer suits, light purple sheer gowns and coats made of 101 dalmatians.

8. The Joseph

This is the style you need to go to if all the troubles you are having are making you lose your hair.

Reminiscent of Justin Timberlake’s 90s instant noodle hair, The Joseph is lighter and more manageable in texture.

Let everyone know who’s boss with this stylish ‘do.

9. The Mark

Less of a barber’s choice and more of a lifestyle, this is what you get when you outgrow The Xandru.

Be careful to stock up on conditioner and good hair products in order to keep this style in control.

10. The Archbishop

This, on the other hand, is what you get when you outlive The Joseph.

The Archbishop can be artificially created by shaping out a receding on the first half a mile of your forehead.

11. The Gianni

Forget Guy Fieri; Gianni is the true advocate of frosted tips, messy hair, and all the gel in the world.

When all else fails, go for a 90s bad boy look. Retro vibes are in right now anyway.

12. The Owen

The Owen is when you basically give up on your hair and grow out a beard instead.

Everyone will initially be shocked and unsure about what they think of you, but at the end of the day the majority will dig it.

13. The Errol

If you don’t want to stray too far off from the Hitler Youth hairstyle because your client needs a very slow transition, you can always opt for an Errol.

Going for the typical shaved sides and longer top and just leaving it to grow for the next couple of months, this style is a stepping stone for all the other styles mentioned above.

Definitely the best choice for the cautious and wary customer.
