An exciting musical expo has been set up at the Mdina Cathedral Museum that focuses on the evolution of music in Malta and what influenced and affected it as times changed.

Organised by Fondazzjoni Patrimonju Malti, Music in Malta – From Prehistory to Vinyl is being guest-curated by one of Malta’s leading experts in the field of national music history, Dr. Anna Borg Cardona.

The exhibition features a collection of traditional folkloristic instruments and sounds spanning from the prehistoric times to the early 20th century

To celebrate local folk music and it’s influences, there will also be numerous performances by both local and foreign talents, such as the Gukulari Ensemble, designed to share the beauty of this style of music.

The exhibition opened earlier this month and will be open until the 16th of June 2019 at the Mdina Cathedral Museum.
