A total of 528,923 passengers travelled through Malta International Airport in November, the MIA’s latest data has shown.

With an increase of 7.2% over 2019 figures, the data continues to show that travel has rebounded extremely strongly since COVID-19 restrictions.

November traffic peaked four days into the month on the weekend of the school mid-term holidays, with more than 25,000 passengers travelling through the airport on the day.

Italy, the United Kingdom, and Germany retained their positions on the airport’s market leader board. Traffic from Poland was also particularly strong, with 92% of available seats on flights between the two countries filled last month.

In fact, the number of passengers who travelled to and from Poland increased by 120% compared to 2019.
