Malta just keeps cementing its status as a prime tourist destination, now backed by renowned travel site TravelZoo and popular US talk show, KTLA 5.

TravelZoo is a trusted travel deal website that has been aiding up to 30 million members worldwide with planning their next big travel plan while getting the most bang for their buck.

Senior editor for the website, Gabe Saglie, appeared on one of the United States’ top morning talk shows, KTLA 5, boasting about Malta’s rich history and obviously, its many tourist attractions.

“It was like walking in a movie,” said travel photographer, Eric Rubens, in the website’s official review of our island.

Eric noted that despite its small size, the island was “easy to explore,” having explored most of our sister islands in just four days. From visiting Gozo’s Ġgantija Archaeological Park that “took it to another level” compared to other European heritage sites, to indulging in the traditional food prepared “the true Mediterranean way” amid the “old world vibes” from Mdina’s own Trattoria AD 1530.

One of the prime selling points for our islands is obviously the fact that it was the filming grounds for the critically-acclaimed Gladiator 2, a recent addition to our country’s many historical pride and joys.

“Malta was chosen as a Travelzoo ‘Best Bet’ for 2025. Only nine worldwide destinations were selected for this honour, based on factors like increased interest among Travelzoo members, sustainability considerations or landmark events for the new year,” the website read.

With cinematic vistas, bustling nightlife and historical landmarks, adding Malta to your travel bucket list is a no brainer. And with 2025 right around the corner, maybe this distinguished endorsement by TravelZoo is enough to pique your interest.
