Waste Management Is A Huge Problem In Malta, But This App Is Here To Help

Article Featured Image

Garby & Tidy, a Maltese app with the goal of cleaning up the messes people are leaving in public places around our beautiful island, has been gaining momentum as of late.

With this app, people can take photos with their mobile location indicator on, and send them directly to local councils and The Cleansing Services Directorate.

Garby and Tidy’s description on Play Store states the following:
“The Cleansing Services Directorate provides various cleansing services to Central Government and Local Councils. The main purpose of the Cleansing Services Directorate is to keep urban and non-urban areas free from litter and illegal dumping, thus, enhancing Malta’s environment.”

Gaby & Tidy reminds us that The Cleansing Services Directorate is responsible for the cleansing of pedestrian areas, beaches, rainwater systems, public conveniences and other touristic zones.

Clean Malta, the Facebook page responsible for promoting Garby & Tidy, regularly shares photos of illegal dumping around the island, proving that there shouldn’t be any excuse to pinpointing these cases and doing something about them.

Become part of the solution, not the problem.

Download the Garby & Tidy app now from Google Play and the Apple Store right now!

Also, if you encounter any cases of littering around the island, please report them on the Transport & Infrastructure’s Freephone 1718.
