Bernice Cassar Made A Domestic Violence Report The Night Before Her Murder
Bernice Cassar, the 40-year-old mother who was allegedly murdered this morning in Raħal Ġdid by her suspected husband, made a domestic violence report just last night.
A number of sources, including family members, are confirming that Cassar had made a number of police reports over the last six months detailing domestic violence.
Her sister, Alessia Cilia, detailed how she has been seriously concerned for her safety, opening up in the wake of her death.
Cilia said her sister was very scared and had been asking for help for months on end. However, her cries for help fell on dead ears.
The victim’s aunt, Sylvana, also explained how they have been living this nightmare for the last six months.
Lovin Malta has sent questions to Malta’s police to ask for the number of reports that Cassar made regarding domestic violence.
Cassar was murdered this morning in Raħal Ġdid after an argument occurred at Kordin’s industrial estate.
Upon arrival, police found a lifeless body behind a parked Nissan Qashqai. The murder happened at around 8am.
Police negotiations are currently ongoing with the aggressor, her husband, who fled the scene and took refuge in the family’s home.
