An autopsy carried out on the body of a man found dead in Birżebbuġa has ruled out any foul play leading up to his death.

In their press release, police have confirmed that there was no involvement from a third party and that the death isn’t one of ‘a suspicious nature’.

However, in light of the body’s advanced state of decomposition, the man’s identity is still undetermined.

Now, forensic analysts will carry out investigations – through DNA testing – to confirm the man’s identity. The results are expected to be released in the coming days.

The body was found in Birzebbuġa on 14th July, in a parking lot near Għar Dalam.

Over the last few weeks, no less than two elderly people were reported missing, with a police search for either of them continuing till today.
