A 77-year-old man resident of Ħal Għaxaq is at risk of dying after falling down the stairs of a residence in Pietà.

The incident occurred at around 1.45pm in a residence situated along Triq Pietru Xuereb in Pietà, police have confirmed.

A medical team was called on-site and the man was taken to Mater Dei Hospital. It was later certified that he is suffering from injuries of a serious nature.

Magistrate Natasha Galea Stafrace is leading an inquiry while police investigations are ongoing.
