Memorial Mass To Honour Inspirational Athlete Jake Vella

Jake Vella was an inspirational teenage athlete who suffered from a rare condition, Rapid-onset Obesity with Hypothalamic Dysfunction, Hypoventilation, and Autonomic Dysregulation (ROHHAD), that caused him to gain weight rapidly despite waiting healthy and training continuously. He sadly passed away on 30th August of last year after a battle against this condition.

“Family and friends are welcome to join and we thank you for your kindness,” wrote his parents on social media.

Jake’s death left a deep impact on the nation, with his memory still honoured today.

The mass will take place on 29th August at 6.30pm in Birżebbuġa’s parish church.
