After two separate instances of reckless and illegal driving around the islands went viral over the last few days, the Malta Police Force has announced it has identified the two drivers.

The first case was related to photos and videos showing a pick-up truck off-roading over the protected sands at Gozo’s Ramla l-Ħamra bay.

Xagħra Mayor Christian Zammit strongly condemned the ordeal, stressing that such sites need to be protected at all costs. 

Meanwhile, the other footage which recently surfaced showed a BMW drifting around a roundabout going up to Luqa.

“Immediate investigations led to the two drivers being identified and spoken to by the police, while charges are expected to be issued in the coming days,” the Malta Police Force announced on social media this afternoon.
