St Julian’s Trash Problem Persists As Photos Of Filthy Roads Emerge

The trash problem in St Julian’s, Malta’s hub for clubs and nightlife, has continued to persist as the tourism season ramps up.
Photos sent to Lovin Malta show the filthy state of St Julian’s main roads as private businesses fail to employ contractors to gather their commercial rubbish while littering by the public remains a pervasive issue.
“This was the state of St. Julian’s this morning at 7am,” the man who captured the images told the newsroom.
St Julian’s mayor Albert Buttigieg has attempted to raise alarms on the issue countless times, but it seems that trash is still not being collected.
“All this commercial waste is supposed to be collected by private contractors. By law, the shops must have a contractor,” Buttigieg had told Lovin Malta.
The wind also plays a major role in the dissemination of the trash around the locality, as pieces of paper and plastic can be seen flying around.
A few weeks back, Lovin Malta also unveiled a series of shocking images all taken on Paceville’s streets after a weekend. Many residents have also warned against the lack of cleanliness present.
