‘This Is A Normal Day At School’: ADPD Leader Sandra Gauci Calls Out Lack Of Action Against Fights Between Youths
ADPD leader Sandra Gauci has made a strong and sarcastic statement calling out the lack of official action to tackle the somewhat endemic school and street fights that have been circulating Maltese media lately.
“The fights you saw were just the ones that were leaked on social media. Whoever teaches, is not surprised. Rather, it’s a normal day at school,” Gauci wrote on social media.
“There are daily fights that have not been recorded. Normal run-of-the-mill activity.”
“And there is no rush on the collective agreement. Take it easy. Chillax!”
If you’re on social media, then you’ve probably noticed an alarming amount of videos going around of young people getting into physical altercations, be it in Valletta or in school.
Figures like Gauci argue that this isn’t new behaviour, rather it’s something that educators have unfortunately become accustomed to. But still, action seemingly remains scarce, according to Gauci, despite the severity of the issue.
Lovin Malta urges anyone who encounters one of these brawls to inform a teacher (if it is happening in school) or call the police (if it is happening in public) immediately.
Do you agree with Gauci’s statement?
