Watch: Dashcam Captures ‘Dangerous’ Overtaking With Oncoming Traffic At Dingli Corner
Dashcam footage captured a driver’s dangerous overtaking with oncoming traffic last night while approaching a corner in Dingli.
The footage was sent to Lovin Malta by a driver that witnessed the near-incident after the contravener overtook him.
“Just this evening, the car overtook me, then proceeded to overtake the car in front of me with oncoming traffic and in a very dangerous corner just as you make your way to Dingli,” the man told Lovin Malta, having submitted the video last night.
In the footage, the overtaking driver first goes onto the other lane to pass the first driver, then decides to overtake the next driver too.
It was at this moment that a head-on tragedy was narrowly avoided, as a car coming from the opposite direction is seen just mere seconds after the overtaking driver.
Over the last few months, more drivers who own dashcams have been raising awareness on the realities of driving in Malta, with drivers going onto opposite lanes seemingly becoming normal.
