25-Year-Old Woman Rushed To Hospital After Being Hit By Bus In Sliema
A young woman was rushed to the hospital after being hit by a bus.
The incident took place at Tower Road, Sliema at around 12.30pm. The victim, a 25-year-old woman from the Philippines was struck by a bus whilst crossing the road, according to the police.
The bus was driven by a 51-year-old driver, also a Philippines national. It was operating through route 13A, heading in the direction of Pembroke.
The victim was taken to Mater Dei Hospital after the incident. Her condition is presently unknown but it does not appear she suffered serious injuries.
A statement issued by Malta Public Transport said that an internal investigation was launched.
“This happened after the person got off the bus at Chalet bus stop in Sliema, and proceeded to cross the road in front of the stopped bus.”
“Unfortunately, the person was hit by another bus that was traveling in the same direction.”
