A 27-year-old man is at risk of dying after crashing into a pole leading to this vehicle overturning in Birżebbuġa.

The incident occurred at around 8.30pm along Triq tal-Papa, police confirmed.

The 27-year-old Birżebbuġa resident was driving a Landrover Defender when he lost control and crashed into a light pole. The vehicle overturned upon impact. 

In the vehicle, there were also two men aged 30 and 34, both residents of Żejtun. A medical team transported the victims to Mater Dei hospital for treatment.

The driver was later certified to be suffering from serious injuries, while the passengers’ injuries were of a grievous nature. 

Magistrate Monica Vella is leading an inquiry, and police investigations are ongoing.
