After Third Cat Poisoned To Death In Qawra, Locals Demand Magisterial Inquiry
Another cat has been found dead, with a second one nowhere to be seen, in an area that is already being investigated over possible poisonings – and neighbours are now asking for a magisterial inquiry to be opened.
Lovin Malta had previously reported on two cats that were found poisoned back in March along the same road – Triq James Smith, Qawra.
“Another cat was found dead. And another cat is nowhere to be seen,” one of the cat feeders in the area told Lovin Malta.
While the report from Animal Welfare, which is carrying out a necropsy on the latest cat, has not yet been finalised, they have already confirmed that it was a healthy cat and had no medical issues that could lead it to die naturally.
In the previous case, CCTV footage collected from the area had managed to identify the possible perpetrator, however, the case remains stalled.
The neighbours have now asked for a magisterial inquiry to be launched, requesting police to go through CCTV footage gathered over the last few days.
Police investigations are ongoing.
